Aultman General Surgery specializes in general surgery with a wide scope of procedures, including the latest in robot-assisted surgeries, for the highest level of comprehensive surgical care.
Aultman General Surgery provides a broad range of general surgical services. State-of-the-art treatments include robot-assisted minimally invasive procedures, colon and rectal cancer surgeries, comprehensive breast care, abdominal and gallbladder procedures, hernia and vascular surgeries.
All surgeons at Aultman General Surgery are board certified, while many have also had extra training for trauma, pediatrics, cancer and the treatment of patients who are injured or critically ill. Board certification at nationally recognized standards for education, experience and skills ensures high-quality care in specific medical specialties that go beyond basic medical licensure.
The Aultman General Surgery team was among the first in the area to perform robot-assisted surgery for hernias and colon, and to date, have completed more than 1,000 robotic procedures. Robot-assisted surgery allows our surgeons to perform many types of complex procedures with precision, flexibility and control. Additional benefits include shorter recovery time, less pain medication usage and less bleeding due to smaller incisions.
Dr. Steven Kelly trained for several months to perform robotic procedures and has facilitated the training of his partners. He has also taught robotic courses on the national level. The surgeons cover a major part of the emergency room call for general surgeons as well as all the trauma calls for Aultman Hospital.
