Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine provides excellence in hospital medicine through hospitalists who coordinate with primary care physicians and specialists, along with inpatient care.
Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine was established in 2008 at Aultman Hospital, with the goal to provide the highest quality care to all patients. The team partners with community primary care providers, various medical/surgical specialties, nurses and other health care ancillary team members to coordinate and administer care inside the hospital to ensure a safe transition to the community.
Hospitalists are doctors who are board certified in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM) and specialize in caring for patients in the hospital. They do not have an outpatient practice, but instead work with your primary care doctor to provide your care while you are hospitalized, giving them the ability to bring prompt and complete attention to all of their patients' needs. Being available in the hospital throughout the day, Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine hospitalists are able to improve communication and collaboration among the various health care team members, including other specialists (cardiology, surgery and neurology), nursing and other ancillary staff.
The hospitalists of Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine are never far should an emergency arise. They also review test results in a timely manner and adjust your treatment plan throughout the day, often working closely with other hospital specialists and departments.
Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine hospitalists partner with more than 140 primary care physicians in Stark and surrounding counties to provide care while you are a patient at Aultman Hospital. Physicians are available in-house 24/7 to care for their patients. Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine's 24 physicians and 9 advanced practice nurses work as a team, so you may see more than one hospitalist during your stay. Information regarding your care will be communicated between Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine physicians and your primary care physician. If you are admitted to Aultman Hospital and do not have a primary care physician, you may be admitted as a patient to Aultman Medical Group – Inpatient Medicine.
