Established in 1984, the Aultman Pain Management was Stark County’s first dedicated pain management unit. The multidisciplinary team includes board-certified physicians, physician assistants, clinical psychologists, advance practice and registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dietitians, social works and pharmacists.
Aultman Pain Management assists in reducing your pain; provides various methods of pain control; restores you ability to live an active lifestyle at work and home; helps manage your stress, depression and anger; and aids your family in the awareness of pain management.
Aultman Pain Management diagnoses and treats chronic pain, which is pain lasting longer than three months that does not improve with over-the-counter medications and conservative therapies. Examples include back, neck and shoulder pain, fibromyalgia, myofascial, complex regional pain syndrome, body surface pain, neuralgia, scar pain, phantom sensations and pain, musculoskeletal/rheumatological, post-injury pain, work-related injuries, neuropathic pain, headaches (migraines, tension and cluster headaches and cervicogenic headaches), postherpetic neuralgia (shingles pain) and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Modes of treatment performed at Aultman Pain Management include physical and occupational therapy, pool therapy, medical management, psychotherapy and counseling, pharmacological (drug) therapy, injections, image-guided nerve blocks and injection therapy, radiofrequency lesioning, nerve stimulation, infusion therapy and acupuncture.
